An exciting opportunity exists for a suitable candidate to join our client’s logistics team. This exciting service role combines daily customer and supplier interaction, information handling and preparation of efficient Logistics planning.

The Logistics Team are responsible for ensuring that the company’s client’s goods are collected and delivered 365 day of the year. The role is office based, working within a small team, and involves on call telephone cover to deal with out of hours service exceptions. 

The ideal person would be someone with an appreciation of the service industry, good administrative skills and be a strong communicator with a proven ability to learn fast.

Job Description 

Working within a small team the Service Co-ordinator acts as a day to day point of contact, focused upon the accurate delivery of service from our Logistics Suppliers.  You will also prepare and review daily processing of information associated with the collection and delivery of the raw product, supporting the Operations Manager in forecasting, delivery planning and seasonal activity.

The desired person will possess a positive, enthusiastic attitude with strong communication skills and a good attention to detail. You will have good Excel skills and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment as part of a small dedicated team. A combination of self-sufficiency and teamwork is essential alongside a curious nature and pride in completion of getting a job done. The role is fundamentally office hours but offers a degree of flexible working patterns that are aligned to out of hours coverage of operational activity.  

All bespoke training will be provided to the suitable candidate including key Logistics planning of raw product movements with an understanding of commercial efficiency.

Skills 

Essential 

  • Ability to engage & communicate with internal and external contacts.
  • Proven ability to learn fast and improve ways of working.
  • Strong Microsoft excel and similar IT functions. 
  • Ability to manage and interpret data information in line with company requirements.

Desirable 

  • Experience within the service sector
  • Understanding of Supply Chain Planning

Salary up to £22.5k.  Standard working hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm with some out of hours coverage required which will be one night a week and one weekend in four (after training period of some months).
