Change Recruitment are delighted to be recruiting a Financial Controller role for a successful privately owned FMCG business based in Avonmouth. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to move into their first Financial Controller role, or maybe someone looking to further expand their experience in a new business. This is a fast paced role, responsible for ensuring the accounting process is run efficiently as well as providing actionable reporting to the senior management team.
You will need to be experienced in all aspects of accounting as well as have strong management reporting skills for this role. Most importantly you will be a confident communicator, who relishes direct liaison with senior management and directors. Providing accurate and timely management information that has a direct impact on business decisions.
General day to day duties include:
- Monthly management accounts, with detailed analysis against budget and prior years
- Provision of rolling forecasts (sales, costs against budget with commentary)
- Responsibility for accounting procedures on site
- Supervision and development of 2 accounts staff, to including training, appraisals and workflow management
- Maintain cashflow ensuring good supplier relations are maintained and adequate funding is available
- Oversee banking arrangements and payment runs
- Provide VAT accounting including returns to HMR&C and Intrastat/EC Sales List
- Preparation of year end accounts for review and submission to Group Finance Director
- Keep up to date with developments and changes in legislation, rolling out to the team and management as necessary
- Work closely with the Senior Management Team on customer and product profitability and ad-hoc projects
- Involvement in systems and process development
- Implement any identified improvements in finance procedures, processes and internal controls

The ideal candidate will be qualified or part qualified CIMA/ACA/ACCA, hold good systems skills and ideally have some exposure to FMCG/Manufacturing processes.
This role is offering a starting salary of £40k - £45k plus study support if required.
